A commercial lawyer and GDPR specialist, I’m committed to practising in plain English. Those legal documents are about your business, not your lawyer’s. You and your customers should understand them easily.
I have a keen practical understanding of small and medium-sized businesses: three years as finance director of a small international firm, nearly five years as head of the in-house legal team in a rapidly growing Scottish multinational, and two terms as a non-executive director in a car-sharing cooperative with over 5,000 members.
Background
Originally from Canada, I worked as a chemical engineer in manufacturing, technical sales, and environmental consulting before training as a lawyer in Ontario in 2007. After joining a specialised corporate tax practice, I moved to the UK in 2011. After almost 5 years leading the legal team of a Scottish multinational, I returned to private practice in 2019.
I’m now qualified in Scotland (solicitor), England & Wales (solicitor), and Canada (barrister & solicitor -British Columbia).
