Debt Recovery – Price list
Overview
Whether you are a sole trader or a corporate entity, have just one debt owing to you or a number of debts, our consultants can review and advise as to the best course of recovery. This includes recognising where continuing business relationships need to be maintained between you and the client / customer who owes the debt. Non-payment of a debt does not always need to result in court action, we will always look to achieve the best practical and effective solutions in the first instance.
Here at Nexa Law we can also review your terms of business, invoicing and credit control procedures to help you reduce your debt, thereby improving cash flow. Sometimes, all it takes are a few small tweaks here and there to achieve this. Our consultants would be happy to discuss this with you and provide any training required.

- County Court matters:- drafting claims, defending claims and counterclaims, applications, hearing representation, obtaining judgments and enforcing judgments.

Our consultants can either fully represent you through the process, or provide support, advice and any drafting if you would prefer to run matters in your own name, with us as back up at a reduced cost.

Further disbursements may be payable, such as advocacy and tracing fees. Our specialists will be able to provide further details as your case progresses.
The cost estimates do not include counter claims, applications, appeals, cost assessments and other such court or tribunal procedures. These are dealt with on a case-by-case basis.

Key Stages & Timescales:
The time the work will take depends on a variety of factors for example depending on the Pre-Action Protocols set by the Civil Procedure Rules, some initial letters can be followed up after 7 days, some not for 30 days, such as those sent to individuals. We can advise you as to the same upon instruction.
Where a claim is issued and it is undisputed, Judgement in Default can usually be entered within a month of the Claim being issued.
Where a claim is disputed, depending on the courts timetabling and the conduct of the parties, it may take up to 6 months from the date of the issuing on the claim for a final hearing to be listed in a Small Claims Track matter (where the value of the claim is less than £10,000.00) and between 6-12 months in a Fast Track matter (where the value of the claim is more than £10,000.00). This is due to additional work being required in the preparation of a Fast Track matter.
