Kirsty’s Story – Life at Nexa with Kirsty Limacher
Continuing our ‘Consultants’ Stories’ series where our lawyers share their journey to becoming a consultant solicitor and joining Nexa, we caught up with Kirsty Limacher.
Meet the consultant…
Kirsty is a private client partner and consultant solicitor. She specialises in wills, estate administration, lasting powers of attorney and vulnerable client matters. Here’s what she had to say:
“I started my legal career in Norfolk where I worked at Lucas & Wyllys Solicitors. I was there for 12 years as a trainee solicitor, then as a solicitor and salaried partner in their private client department. I then relocated to Hertfordshire, where I worked at Sherrards in St Albans, before joining Nexa earlier this year.
Like many people I got used to working remotely during the Covid pandemic and I was at the stage in my career where I craved more flexibility and autonomy. Becoming a consultant solicitor at Nexa was the solution that allowed me to continue doing the work I love and made it easier to focus on providing a great service to all my clients.
One of the things I like most about being a consultant at Nexa is being able to work from home at times which suit me and my clients.
The trade-off is that it does take time and energy to build your own business as a legal consultant. I think it’s really important for anyone thinking about taking that step and becoming self-employed, to weigh up the risks and rewards carefully and be totally honest with themselves about whether they have the drive to do it?
I definitely have a much better work life balance now I’m at Nexa; I spend more quality time with my family and my dog, Sherlock, appreciates all the extra walks!”
