Taking time away from work during the Christmas break gives many of us a real chance to “take stock”, evaluate where we are in our lives and to consider our priorities, both personal and professional – it’s no coincidence that lawyers dub the first week of January “divorce week”!

New year is the right time to consider a change

After a period of rest and reflection, the start of a new year often feels like the right time to make significant changes. This might take the form of vowing to look after ourselves better, for example by eating more healthily and exercising more. It also commonly involves deciding to actively look for a new job or finally plucking up the courage to resign.

If you are thinking about whether your current legal career is giving you everything you want, now is the time to seize the day and explore what the alternatives look like. There is a lot more choice than there used to be, which is great for everyone.
