Amaar is a trusted legal adviser for many companies and individuals alike, whether well-established international corporations, family-run businesses, or exciting new start-ups. His wide-ranging experience across many practice areas ensures he is a valuable addition around any table.

Recognised for his solutions-oriented approach, Amaar prefers to work as a teammate enabling clients to push commercial possibilities and harness risk at the earliest stage. He is led by clients’ interests and ensures active communication with all stakeholders, transparency about the steps, time and costs involved in any case.

Amaar’s practice with Nexa is currently focused on the full range of corporate and commercial law, civil disputes and private client work including estate planning and inheritance tax, wills, trusts and probate.

Background

Amaar is a dual-qualified lawyer. He was admitted as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England & Wales in 2015; and as an Advocate of the High Courts of Pakistan in 2012.

Initially specialising in cross-border project finance and international commercial law, Amaar has since served as a judicial assistant in a constitutional court and worked for seven years as a UK public and civil servant. This included acting as an Adjudicator for disputes brought to the Housing Ombudsman and as the lead for transitioning EU trade remedies measures under the WTO system. Amaar most recently served as a policy and strategy adviser to the UK Government on international trade for three years.

Over the past 13 years, Amaar has advised on high-value cross-border commercial transactions; international project finance in the energy and infrastructure sectors; corporate governance and compliance; public procurement; disputes including judicial review; housing and tenancy, immigration, intellectual property and data protection; anti-dumping and countervailing subsidies under WTO law; helping start-ups scale up to their full potential and estate planning for high net-worth individuals.

Amaar holds a Master of Laws degree (LLM) and a professional qualification in Islamic Finance. He has lived and worked in five countries and speaks seven languages.
