Nexa joins the discussion at the Alternative Legal Management Summit 2022
Nexa CEO, Nigel Clark and NexaConnex Leads, Matthew Dunne and Daniel Jenkins recently attended the 2022 Legal Management Summit in Oxford run by Alternative Events.
This invitation only event is now in its sixth year and aims to bring together managing partners and CEOs from the UK legal mid-market.
We were delighted to be invited along; the summit was the perfect opportunity to get together with other like-minded leaders and to discuss the issues we are all dealing with as we seek to grow our firms, embrace innovation and create a positive, business culture.
We heard some inspirational keynote speakers and enjoyed taking part in discussions which addressed some of the specific challenges facing ambitious, mid-market firms and, like us, alternative legal business models, in the current legal market.
One of the challenges which cropped up again and again in discussions was the difficulty in recruiting and retaining the right talent – a pre-requisite for growth. It’s no secret that there has been an “arms race” when it comes to legal salaries this year, and this has had a particularly significant impact on mid-market firms. While the largest, magic circle and US firms can keep throwing money at the problem, this is not an option for mid-market firms who are consequently being priced out of the market in some areas.
The NexaConnex solution
Proposing a solution to this widespread issue, Nigel, Matthew and Daniel were keen to explain the benefits of NexaConnex to those who may not yet be aware of this offering from Nexa. NexaConnex is our flexible, freelance service for law firms which helps them manage short and long-term capacity challenges. NexaConnex can deliver an experienced, cost-effective lawyer in almost any practice area; to find out more, download our brochure.
It was a great day for all of us and so useful to be able to network with peers and discuss problems and solutions in a friendly and informal atmosphere. We left the summit more informed, inspired and emboldened, so we would just like to say a big thank you to Alternative Events for organising the summit (and we hope to see you again next year!)
