Nexa Turns Seven!

Rachel Barnes, Marketing & Onboarding Manager
Estimated read time: 1 Minute

Today Nexa Law celebrates its seventh birthday – and a lot has happened in a short space of time!

Having received approval by the SRA as an alternative business structure, we opened the doors in March 2017 and our business kicked on very quickly.  We subsequently acquired London commercial boutique  Peregrine Law early in 2020 and franchising specialist Goldstein Legal in 2021, followed by the appointment of Gideon Moore – previously Global Managing Partner at Linklaters – in 2022.  In late 2023, in response to our continued growth, we made the appointment of a new CMO and Head of Talent, John McAuley, to help support and grow our consultancy base  with a strong onus on community and culture.

Throughout our evolution, the original vision for Nexa – to be a new model law firm doing law in a different way – remains unchanged. When CEO Eliot Hibbert founded Nexa, he wanted to harness the power of self-employed lawyers by giving them the flexibility and freedom to work the way they wanted to, to fit in with their personal circumstances and enhance their work/life balance. This focus is and will continue to be harnessing our solicitors with the very best tools.

Today, Nexa has grown considerably, with over 200 people working with us, and is still a passionate advocate for modernising and diversifying the legal sector, committed to equality and inclusivity in the workplace.

Seven years ago, we were outliers and could never have foreseen the pandemic and the seismic shift in attitudes and working practices it has precipitated in such a short space of time. We don’t tell our lawyers where or how to work, but we provide them with all the back-office support and assistance they need to do their job. We’re here as much, or as little as they need us.

The next seven years….

We are busy planning for the next seven years, and we will keep delivering for our consultants and their clients, building on the success story we’ve had since we were founded in 2017.  We don’t intend to stop growing, but most importantly we are proud to maintain the personalised approach delivering care and attention to each of our consultants.  We are looking firmly forward – happy birthday Nexa!
